Knitted Jacket

The knitting part of my blue jacket shown in this post is at last finished! This morning, after ironing all the pieces, I started assembling them. I want to finish this work today so that I can wear it tomorrow and show it to my friends at the quilting gathering. All of them are as well fond of knitting.

all day long!

I added three more rows to my double Four Patch top, which means 30 blocks. To complete it I need another 20 blocks... I think I rather have a break from this and start a new baby quilt for my three months old grandson : first priority, isn't it? As I showed in this post, my daughter chose various shades of grey for this quilt and I suppose it will be a pleasure for me to use soft neutral hues, after all those colorful fabrics lately... relaxing!

Slow Sunday Knitting

For me, wintertime is not wintertime without knitting near the fireplace! I love the warmth of the wool, and nowadays you can find such gorgeous yarns, with a wonderful soft touch and in a huge range of colors, that it's impossible to resist! At this time being I am knitting a blue jacket using Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino yarn, and I just received a great wool from Rowan : Felted Tweed, of which I love the soft tune and touch. Most problably for another jacket...

Together with the basket pattern, the house pattern is my favorite one. Although I made several basket quilts, I only did this miniature house quilt, but it is in my projects to create a large one some day...

Sunday morning is ideal for slow stitching and I finished the binding of this miniature quilt (here in Greece it is 2 pm). The size is 13.50" x 13,50".

This Sunday I am going to line my little crib blanket that I finished knitting. For this I will hand sew
a Liberty fabric on the back, using a silk thread that is very pleasant to use for a slipping stitch .
