Ebreuil Quilt Exhibition 2017 First Part

How lucky I was, arriving at my summer place in Auvergne last July, to find there was a quilt exhibition... and what an exhibition... absolutely wonderful!
Here are shown reproduction quilts, hand pieced and hand quilted, in an absolute respect of the tradition. Perfect work of meticulousness in the details, so impressive! Some of those quilts are a life achievement! Congratulations to the artists!!!

New Home for an Antique Quilt

My Scrappy Stars antique quilt travelled with me to France. I thought it would be of the best decorative effect in my old French house. I have displayed it in the garden on an antique bench to take pictures.

I came back to Greece a few days ago after a long time in France (two months and a half!). I thought I would escape from the excessive Greek summer heat, but I had an exceptionally hot summer in France, and coming back here I find an exceptional heat for September... not lucky! It is definitely not a temperature to start quilting...

Vintage Toys on Antique Doll Quilt

Another passion of mine is for vintage toys, memories of my youth. My sister and me were very spoilt little girls with too many toys, but unfortunately our mother was "decluttering" obsessed and therefore was giving away all our stuff when not needed anymore. Not a single toy was saved!

Those boyish sweet toys belong to my friend Michele from our quilting group. I borrowed them to take pictures to share with you such little treasures... of course displayed on an antique doll quilt!
