Exhibition Paris March 2013

Last year in Paris, I was lucky enough to visit the Mona Bismarck
American Center. The antique quilts exhibited were exceptionally
beautiful with a great range of various styles.

This Baltimore quilt was a pure beauty,
the most stunning I ever saw, huge size
and excellent state, like never used.
The appliqué extremely refined, the colors gorgeous!

This one was my favorite one,
mainly because of this rare green color,
and the red hexagons in between the diamonds.

This Pineapple Variation of Log Cabin
with its black background was awesome!

Great inspiration for future creations!
I will never forget this impressive exhibition.

Antique red and white quilt

Arriving in Paris, I had this beautiful surprise :
my sister welcomed me with this wonderful
antique quilt spread on my bed!
She bought it in an auction in England.

Monday's group

Small quilt
Ginette's quilt

What a great pleasure every monday to meet my dearest friends!
We all share the same passion for quilting. Each one has her own
project and this way we always enjoy to admire the progress of all
those different and wonderful works.

We admired the finished top from Severine... stunning!
This was quite a challenge!
We saw her working on this huge top every monday for years
and are so happy to find the result even above our expectations!
Congratulations Severine!!!

Knitted Shawl

Knitted shawl

During the Christmas holidays, when the family was gathered
at home, I did'nt have the opportunity to go to my seewing machine,
because I spent most of my time in the kitchen! But whenever I had some
free time, I was knitting, as I cannot sit down without having a work
in my hands, and I did this "moutarde" (as we call in French) shawl.

Knitted shawl

I used two yarns : an alpaga wool and a thin mohair together.

Knitted shawl

I like those two colors together, they are
warm to look at.

Baby bumper

I received those pictures from my son and his wife,
and it is a great pleasure for me to see that the bumper
and the baby quilt I sewed with love are of use to their baby!
