Since my first drawstring bags, shown here, I became addicted to sewing bags! For those ones I  did not follow a tutorial, but I was inspired by pictures on Pinterest and by the tutorial I used previously from Threading My Way

As regards those two fabrics, I am so happy that I found a way to use them, and I think that the result is quite satisfying. They were in my stash for years, and seeing them from time to time I was wondering what was the purpose of  buying such a kind of printed fabric. I find them lovely but difficult to use for a quilting project...

Being unable to spend hours and hours quilting as I used to do in the past, due to pains in the back, I just quilted this baby quilt with big stitches, following the sides of the small squares of the four patch blocks, using variegated colored threads. The final result is quite pleasant.

After seeing many such bags on Pinterest and Instagram I decided to sew my own knitting bag.
I chose this lovely printed canvas from Elanbach which has a good firmness required for this kind of project. Very pleased with this first bag I will sew some others using plain canvas from my stash.

Until now I did not buy any new material. The purpose is : using all the stuff I have at home and decluttering.

On the last picture I displayed my new knitting bag next to a shawl I knitted and a cross stitch embroidery I achieved in 2012.

Four Patch Baby Quilt

Four Patch Quilt

Among my unfinished tops I picked what I called the Gypsy Four Patch top. I found it too messy to become a double size bed cover, definitely I did not like it. Sometimes I wonder why I insist when in doubt...  I remember that from the very beginning I was not sure of myself and instead of stopping I went on adding other fabric lines, as a consequence that the more I was advancing with this project, trying to improve it, the less I was satisfied. Final result : an abandoned top.

Wondering what to do with this top, it came to my mind that it could be nice as a baby quilt. So I cut it in four parts and started to quilt the first one. On a small scale it looks better and quite joyful though soft colors. Maybe the fabric design is not very kid's style? What is you opinion? Well, we shall see and if I am pleased with this first one I will go on with the three others...
