Apron & Summer Crop

As I said before, summer was dedicated to the family (children and grand-children) who visited us. Although I spent most of the days in the kitchen, I had a little time to sew for my daughter an apron with an ancient piece of linen.

I pitted kilos of cherries to prepare jars for the winter. We collected the almonds from our tree and peeled them.
I did as well tomato sauce jars, but they were eaten before I even thought of taking pictures! I may prepare some more jars, as we still find very good tomatoes at the market.

Embroided Pincushion

Pincushion

This is not quilting, but I was feeling like showing one of my pincushions that I re-discovered after putting order in my studio. I think that this embroidery was meant to be a big one (I don't remember what exactly) but it remained at the size of a pincushion!! I suppose the work of cross-stitching on a raw piece of old linen was tedious and backbreaking, and it discouraged me from going further!

Pink Blossoms

Apricot blossom

This is the very first blossom I found this morning in my garden on the apricot tree... so incredibly beautiful!

Linen fabric

The freshness and the refinement of it reminded me of those fabrics I had bought two years ago in London, from one of my favorite shops in Chelsea : Cabbages and Roses.

Linen fabric

They are such lovely and fresh linens of such a nice quality!

Linen fabric

At that time I had sewn with those fabrics three cushions that I put on my sofa at spring time.
I am thinking now that I could sew some tea towels with the remains.

Linen cushions

This refined Limoges tea cup belonged to my mother.

A beautiful book I read in my twenties.

Book and cushions

This is what I enjoy most : a nice cup of tea with a good book and peace around me!
