This post is a tribute to my talented mother. All the knittings where done by her. She used to knit our pullovers, jackets... and after some calculations (that I would be unable to do) she was reducing the sizes and knitting the same clothes for my little doll. I loved to see my doll dressed like me! Coming back from school I was so happy to have the surprise of finding those sweet little things on my bed.

The first year I went skiing my mother knitted for me and my doll this cute jumper with its bonnet.

The first two pictures show some other doll clothes from my childhood.

All those little doll clothes are the only remains, rescued from the clearing away obsession of my mother. My little favorite doll was given, as well as all my toys. I wish I still had them, they were such treasures!

  1. Oh they are adorable! What a talented mother, I'm not sure I could downsize to fit a dolly either!

  3. Oh, these are so sweet! You are lucky to have them. My grandmother made clothes for my dolls as well. They were all given away before I had the chance to rescue them. I hope someone is appreciating them as much as you treasure yours!

  7. I wish I had that doll's wardrobe! Those are darling. I'm sorry you no longer have the doll but at least you have the handmade works by your mom.

  8. They are fabulous treasures! Lucky you to have gotten them. My favorite dolls were barbies and my Grandmother crocheted some beautiful dresses for them. I am not positive if my mother saved them for me or not...I have got to ask her today when we talk. Thank you for sharing your treasures and bringing to my memory some of my own! Have a wonderful day!

  9. Trésors magnifiques! Je comprends ce que tu ressens de ne plus avoir ta poupée et tes jouets. Mon doudou a fini dans l'école de ma mère. Je lui en veux encore malgré les années passées! Beau dimanche!

  13. What fun and what treasures you have. I too wish that I had more of my childhood toys and keepsakes. I kept all my boys belongings. They are there if they want them. Maybe girls enjoy the memories a bit more.
