Happy Mail and Snow!

Quilt show

April's snow

How nice it is to find an American envelope in the mail box! I was expecting this mail for three weeks!
It is a gift from my blogger friend Diane from Butterfly Threads Quilting. Last month, when I read this post in her blog and expressed my regret not to live in USA and thus not to be able to visit the Bullock Hall Quilt Show that she was attending, she had the sweet thought to send me the catalogue and the DVD of the exhibition. And what a lovely surprise to find that she added some presents in the envelope : two quilt patterns and a template of hers! The pattern explanations are written behind the cards and are so clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much Diane!

The second picture shows another surprising event when I opened the shutter of the lounge this morning : snow... at this time of the year!! Here in Greece, we celebrate the Orthodox Easter next Sunday... under the snow???

Happy Mail!

Stack of fat quarters

When I went to visit my sons in London last March, I bought some yardages of Liberty fabrics.
The problem in Liberty's shop is that you cannot buy less than one yard, which limits you as they are quite expessive.
So, recently obsessed with those prints, I searched the web and was happy to find a very good site selling fat quarters of Liberty fabrics. The prices are reasonable and the shipping is very fast.
These Liberty prints remind me of my youth, some are still the same as those I was using when sewing cushions for my new studio in Paris!
Have a great day!
Bonne journee a toutes mes amies quilteuses francaises!

Fabrics

Mail day always means happy day when I receive fabrics from USA!

After having ordered my fabrics from various sites over many years, I discovered recently a fabulous e-shop
and I ordered there for the first time : http://www.hawthornethreads.com/.

I must say I was absolutely satisfied with their service. They are so efficient, my order was mailed the day
I placed it! Their prices are very competitive and they have a huge variety of fabric lines.
What is especially interesting for me is that they put a maximum yardage in a flat envelope, that means 10 1/2 yards. I could never have all this amount in an envelope before from other shops.
I have now a lovely batch of 21 half yard fabrics, cut and folded with care!

I can start my new project!

Hope you are having beautiful quilting projects this week-end!
