Searching for some inspiration for the spring decoration of my home, I brought various magazines in the garden, a cup of coffee... I so enjoy this activity! Spring is a great source of inspiration for painting, quilting... the miracle season! The flowers are marvelous, especially the wisteria fragrant with scent.

In a COUNTRY HOMES & Interiors April 2014 issue, I found a picture of a quilt that reflects my spring happy mood and I am hopping up and down of impatience to start a similar one... fabric order??? Sure I will not find what I want in my stash...

Though it may be a more reasonable idea to finish my Gyspy Four Patch Quilt that I began to enlarge two months ago. See the progress here.

Apple tart

For the first spring quilting gathering, I decorated my house with flowers.

Our quilting group is becoming sometimes half knitting group. Eleni, our great long-arm quilter is crocheting a stunning jacket from a Rowan pattern with Rowan yarn. I am eager to see it finished. She as well did an apron for Michele, of her own pattern. We had fun trying it and we all want one!

Michele is knitting a wonderful blanket and the other friends are progressing with there quilting projects : Flower Garden hexagons, diamonds...

For coffee time I did for the first time a gluten free apple tart. I used for the pie dough a mix of buckwheat, corn flour and rice flour. The result was very good and well appreciated though I am the only one to be on gluten free diet!

Wishing a wonderful spring to everyone!

Bohemian Shawl Fringes

My daughter wished to have fringes to this shawl. I had to order more yarn as fringes need many yards of wool. They need as well many hours work, almost as many hours as to knit the shawl!

For how to make fringes, you can find the tutorial HERE.

On the pictures you can see a bag I had sewn with a lovely fabric designed by Anna Maria Horner.
When knitting I like to store my yarns in a color matching bag!
